Producer-Performer
Mary-Margaret Stratton was born as Mary-Margaret Sullivan. Mary-Margaret is a graduate of UCLA and studied performance at UCLA,the Groundlings and the Second City, Hollywood. She is an accomplished performer, composer, producer and author. She and her husband established the MidMod Squad in 2015 with the goal of producing education entertainment with a retro aesthetic twist.
As an educator and producer, Mary-Margaret has served as an advocate for historic Mid-Century Modern architecture. She helped to save the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood from demolition. She has produced numerous tours, live events and “retro festivals” including three Mondo Lounges with the last one being at the Palms Casino, Las Vegas. Her guidebook How Modern Was My Valley received critical acclaim in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. Mary-Margaret wrote Mondo Vegas, the first comprehensive tour book about mid-century buildings in Las Vegas, NV, and coined the phrase “Mid-Mod” now in common use. She and has managed the career of pop culture performance artist, Cherry Capri, for years.
As a Creative Director, Mary-Margaret has consulted for clients such as diverse as IBM and Dreamworks. She has received awards from PC Publishing, American Corporate Identity, American Society of Instructional Designers (ASID) and CINDY (Cinema in Industry). Her work in the industry has been multi-faceted. She served as associate producer I Want to Get Married (2011) and provided set decor for the movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (TV Series) (2001), numerous television commercials and still shoots. In addition, she provided technical writing while under contract with DreamWorks Animation for The Prince of Egypt (1998) and The Road to El Dorado (2000). As an artist she drew the 1950s fashion illustrations for Barbie’s 30th Birthday for Mattel Licensing. As a painter, her work has been featured alongside the likes of SHAG and Mark Ryden.
Mary-Margaret is also a Certified Raw Food Nutritionist and Essene Minister. She has written several diverse self-improvement books such as Kiss Addiction Goodbye – The Twelve Step Diet to Aid Recovery and Help Heal Addictive or Compulsive Behaviors, Stop Picking on Me – How to Make Peace with Your Critical Self and the Good Wiccan Guides – A Book of Lights to Shine on Shadows. She also edited the compendium, Dominant Health. She is a former Board Member of the Alliance for Addiction Solutions. She currently sits on the Advisory Board for Valley Relics Museum in Los Angeles, CA.
Mary-Margaret’s Her diverse background in performance, design, education and healthy living give her the unique ability to guide family entertainment that helps viewers to happier, healthier, more wholesome lives. She has been married to Cary Stratton since November 18, 1989.
